On November 11, 2025, all TUBAF members will have an easy opportunity to get vaccinated against the influenza virus. This flu vaccination is recommended annually in the fall (October-December). Vaccination protection is fully established after about 10 to 14 days, significantly reducing the risk of severe influenza.
It is also possible to administer a COVID-19 vaccine on the same day, as it is also an inactivated vaccine and can therefore be administered simultaneously with the flu vaccine.
From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., staff from the Glück-Auf-Apotheke Freiberg pharmacy will be available for you in the exercise hall on Lessingstraße (Lessingstraße 45, 09599 Freiberg). Anyone interested can book a 5-minute time slot—that's how long the vaccination takes.
Would you like to get vaccinated?
1) Please book one time slot per vaccination, i.e. if you would like to receive both the flu AND Covid-19 vaccinations, please book two time slots. This is important in order to determine the number of vaccine doses required. If there are no more slots available at the same time, please register for only one vaccination and ask for the second vaccination directly on site.
Please provide all information. Age is particularly important, as the vaccine doses for people under and over 60 differ for the flu vaccine.
2) Please arrive at the exercise hall on Lessingstraße at the booked time on November 11.
3) Please have your health insurance number ready (see insurance card).
4) Fill out the form on site
5) Receive a vaccination
6) Done!
The cost of the vaccination is covered by your health insurance provider. Glück-Auf-Apotheke will handle the billing, so there is no expense for you. For all those with statutory health insurance, simply fill out the registration form on site.
Important information for those with private health insurance: You must provide all details of your health insurance on the registration form on site. The pharmacy will then issue invoices for all privately insured persons and forward them collectively to the TUBAF health management department, which will in turn forward them to the persons concerned (preferably via internal mail). To get reimbursed, you'll need to submit the invoice to your health insurance company as usual. If you have private health insurance, please send your personal details (name, work address) to Maxi.Wilde@usz.tu-freiberg.de in advance—thanks!
As the vaccine is administered in the upper arm, we ask that you wear short-sleeved clothing on the day of vaccination.
Please also note that mild general symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, fatigue, or chills may occur after vaccination. These reactions are rare, usually harmless, and subside after a few days. These reactions indicate that the immune system is responding to the vaccine.
Vaccination is NOT possible if you currently have an acute illness with a high fever, if you are pregnant (in this case, vaccination is only possible at a doctor's office), or if you are scheduled to have surgery in the next three days.
