Staying fit through the winter – flu and COVID-19 vaccinations for all TUBAF members

Once again this year, the University Health Management Service, in collaboration with the Glückauf Pharmacy in Freiberg, is offering appointments for flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Protect yourself and others from serious illness caused by flu and COVID-19!


Influenza (Flu)


STIKO recommends the annual flu vaccination, particularly for:


• People aged 60 and over

• People with chronic conditions, e.g. asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular, liver or kidney diseases

• Healthcare staff and people at increased occupational risk of infection

• People in frequent contact with those at particularly high risk

• Pregnant women from the second trimester onwards; in the case of certain underlying conditions, from the first trimester onwards


Note for pregnant women: The flu vaccination is strongly recommended. However, it is not administered as part of our vaccination campaign, but via your GP’s surgery or your gynaecologist.


COVID-19


According to the updated STIKO recommendations from 2026, an annual booster vaccination is particularly recommended for:


• People aged 75 and over

• People aged 6 months and over with certain underlying conditions that put them at risk

• Residents of care homes

• Care staff in direct contact with residents

• Medical staff at increased occupational risk of infection


An annual COVID-19 booster jab is no longer generally recommended for healthy adults under the age of 75.


Good to know:


• Flu and COVID-19 jabs can be administered at the same time if medically indicated.

• Vaccinations at the Glückauf Pharmacy are available for people aged 18 and over.

• Before each vaccination, we carry out an individual medical history review and check your eligibility for the vaccine.

• Please bring your electronic health card and your vaccination card with you.
